How to diffuse the worst possible scenario? With a good sense of humor of course!

Bad things happen,
This is inevitable.
We define our lives,
This is also true.
We get lost in the mire,
This too shall pass…
As Edward Lorenz, the father of modern chaos theory, famously said:
“The fluttering of a butterfly’s wing in Rio de Janeiro, amplified by atmospheric currents, could cause a tornado in Texas two weeks later.”
Turning up the corners of your mouth,
what will be your ripple effect?
In a nutshell, here’s the great secret to happiness as i see it:
Dive into your life with zeal and passion and joy, let go of yourself and become immersed in what you really enjoy.
Work on building something – something with meaning for you.
Observe and enjoy the process – remember that true selflessness means surrendering your attachment to outcomes.
Have a sense of humor about it – life is tragically funny!
As Henry Miller once said:
“Develop interest in life as you see it, in people, things, literature, music – the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.”
Life’s too beautiful to waste…lets throw away the script and enjoy!!!

Yes, let’s throw the scripts away, release all that marketing nonsense, the automated series of instructions we receive on a daily basis—in mutiplus (from the late Latin) and make choices. Choices based on the needs of the many and influenced by the flow, the absorbtion of understanding …….who we are as individuals, as a people, as a planet, as a never-ending structure of organic material. Smile at the “cultures” we’ve created, answer an outpouring of questions and with that smile send an expression of joy and passion to everyone we touch. It costs nothing in a monetary sense, but the exchange could bring peace! Was that too serious?
Oh, go ahead, relax, be silly…. and comfortable in your skin. Whose to judge where your experience of happiness lies?
ahh yes – thank you Susan – your words flow like a poetic balm of soft wind to soothe our tired-out souls – what is the cost of a smile?
perhaps we can remember with humility again who or what we really are and acknowledge with a smile the significance of this what for a crazy poet gave his life over a century ago…
“Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humour was provided to console him for what he is.” -Oscar Wilde
One belief is that each human being is pure love, pure happiness. That is, what you do or do not do does not change the core energy you are and the light emanating from within your soul. To reconnect with that brings a feeling of pure bliss. Happiness is a mental state too.
I really love the Henry Miller quote. “forget yourself”
oh yea! I forgot to forget. Thanks for the reminder:)
Maybe a belief, but i believe it’s true what you say Liara, and Robin pointing to that also…absolutely, in fact that’s probably my main point! Of course, having a good ole laugh is sometimes more fun, perhaps easier, although what you speak of is the effortless choiceless pure awareness, which something as simple as a walk in the park or a madeleine can help bring on…..or a temporary foray out of one’s usual rhythm – it’s actualy quite simple – worthy of forgetting any technique or practice….
which is why is say – too live and enjoy! Is the greatest spiritual practice – viva la frog!
