*Turn up the volume!
A word on the context…it’s spring of 2003, year two of the Tribeca Film Festival, just blocks away from ground zero and my studio at the time. The bombs have just recently begun raining on Baghdad in the ill-fated Iraq oil war…
Five years later, of course, the occupation continues despite widespread knowledge the entire premise of the war was fabricated…
that’s what Mike’s referring to when he says, “this is really kickin the shizz outta me…”
…and that’s why i always insist the quest for happiness in the harsh face of reality is the ultimate rebellion.
